Fort Worth, Texas (Aug. 12, 2025) – The 2025 NCAA Volleyball season is just weeks away and four top 10 squads will be facing off in Fort Worth shortly after the start of the season.
The first AVCA top 25 poll of the season has been released and No. 3 Pittsburgh leads a highly-ranked group of four teams that will face off at Dickies Arena on Wednesday, September 10. Louisville checks in at No. 4, followed by the No. 5 Texas Longhorns and No. 7 Kentucky Wildcats
In the matchups at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Pitt and Kentucky will match up in the first contest, slated for 6:30 pm ET. That match will be immediately followed by Texas versus Louisville.
The Panthers will take on Kentucky for the 10th time in history, with Pitt holding a 6-3 advantage. It will mark a rematch of last year's NCAA Regional Final, in which the Panthers recorded a 3-0 sweep at the Petersen Events Center on December 14.
The match between UT and U of L will be just the sixth meeting between the two historic programs with Texas holding the 4-1 advantage. The last time the two teams met was in the 2022 NCAA Championship match, where the Longhorns went on to win the first of two back-to-back titles with a 3-0 sweep.
Tickets for the event are on sale now through the Dickies box office or via Ticketmaster as well as links on the Showdown at the Net official website. Tickets purchased are for both matches, with prices starting at just $33.50 to see four elite volleyball programs.
All four matches will be televised nationally on ESPN – part of a slate of over 2,600 college volleyball matches available on various ESPN platforms.
